The Early Bird's Nest

Life with our family from a bird's eye point of view

The Early Bird's Nest  has been around for awhile, and the main focus of our content has been our cats.  We started out with two:  Critter and Mr. Nelson. Then we rescued a kitten in August, 2002, when he was just 14 weeks old, and his name is Mickey Mouser.  However, just 3 months later, in November, 2002, we lost Mr. Nelson to a sudden onset of FIP.  Even though he's no longer with us, we'll continue to dedicate this website to his memory.  Then in January of 2005, we lost Critter from a stroke, brought on by her age.   You'll find both their tribute pages in the "Cat Tales" section, where you'll also find everything else related to our cats.

In April, 2004, a cat showed up on our windowsill and refused to leave.  We had no idea where she came from and after feeding her for a couple days, we decided that she must need a home. After taking her to the vet, and keeping her separated from Critter and Mickey for one week, we brought her in from the breezeway to join our family.  We named her Mysti, because of the mystery involved with where she came from.  And then, folks, 9 weeks later she gave birth to 3 adorable kittens.  No wonder she needed a home!!!

We have a section called "Mickey Mouser's Cat Proof Website List" and we invite you to contact us about why you love cats.  If you have a website, we'll be more than happy to post your comments and a link back to your website.  You can find a link to this page in the Cat Tales section.

We have a section on "Classic Cars", just for all you gearheads out there!  We invite you to contact us with information and photos of your favorite set of wheels, and we'll be happy to post them!

Bj has her own little corner of our site, too, and provides information about Fibromyalgia (a disease that she was diagnosed with several years ago), and also DVT.  She developed Deep Vein Thrombosis a couple of years ago and it was a very challenging time for her.  She wrote a piece quite a few years ago titled "Moment in Time" and she shares how that gives her hope and courage in times of need.

We have a family-friendly website, which means there won't be inappropriate content that isn't suitable for all family members.  We strive to maintain that rating, so if you submit anything that you want posted, your website will be checked out thoroughly before any links are established.

Thank you for stopping by, and we hope you'll enjoy your visit!  We uploaded a whole new look in July, 2007, and we hope that you like it!
